WHO WE ARE
WHO WE ARE
The Last Round Tavern was opened in the Spring of 2019 by father and son team, Danny and Caleb Orozco. Having formerly opened up their previous sandwich shop, Genuine Heros, in South San Jose in 2016, the Orozco’s relocated their operations closer to their Northside neighborhood in Downtown San Jose.
With an expanded menu that now includes slow-braised and roasted meats, house-made pasta sauces, and tavern style sourdough pizza made from scratch, The Last Round Tavern is also pouring up locally brewed beers, wine and simple cocktails.
As a family-owned and operated business, The Last Round Tavern strives to deliver freshness and flavor in every bite. Remember, the last round is the best round.
No matter what you’re aiming to achieve, give it all you got.

By Mike Huguenor for SanJose.com
Sept. 4, 2019
Caleb Orozco was 15 when he cracked a couple of ribs. It was nothing major, the kind of injury any kid might sustain during their high school years. But there was a difference between Orozco and the other high school kids.
“I had a fight coming up,” he says, “and if I could still throw punches, I was gonna get in there and do it.”

A sandwich shop in the South Bay really needs something special to separate itself from the herd. Danny Orozco, owner of Genuine Heros, thinks he has that something in the signature recipes he’s been developing the past 15 years. In-house slow-roasted meats, house-made sauces and Italian sausage make the menu skew toward an East Coast Italian deli.
